It’s all around these days.
Whether it’s in a new book…

In the Internets…
Or in a new environment…

Knitting New Scarves is such a fabulous book. The construction of all the scarves is genius and it’s a nice change to be working with something heavier than a fingering weight yarn. I’d forgotten how quickly something can work up. I’m currently working on Drifting Pleats and it is very logical, very intuitive.
It’s nice being here, away from Chinese restrictions on the Internet, away from the biting cold and lack of heating, away from the dry and the disgusting pollution. I love the lifestyle in Beijing, but it’s nice to get a little break. I arrived home to a couple of new additions to the family. Adorable little things.

Before moving my blogging home, I probably should have thought about Internet access in China. Which is to say, I can’t access a lot of sites, including wordpress. Admittedly, I’m not the most prolific blogger to begin with, but it is slightly frustrating to be unable to post when you want to.
I’m on holiday in Hong Kong now. Hopefully I’ll be able to take a few pictures and keep this updated in the next week. In the meantime, some recent photos I’ve taken.

There should have been knitting but unfortunately there wasn’t.
Why?
Because today’s the last day of my holiday. And therefore I’m busy sorting out this:
and this:
It’s my last night in Vancouver. It’s back to the grind, back to the hustle and bustle of Beijing.
However, I did manage to steal some time to go out for a quick photoshoot. It was wet and cold and dark, but being in the park, surrounded by all the trees… I’ll miss it.

I’ve been frustrated with blogger for a while. The disorganisation of my blog using blogger makes me go bonkers (I don’t care if they’ve added tags, it just doesn’t categorise things well enough). I’ve been frustrated with the look of it (it’s ugly and I don’t know how to fix it). And I just needed a change. I’ve been looking a wordpress for a while. It’s what the ex used to use, after all. And his blogs looked good (though admittedly he is a web designer). And that brings me to this. Hopefully a fresh start will encourage me to do more work on it! (And I have my fingers crossed that China hasn’t got wordpress blocked!)
I’ve got a couple of things on the needles, but I’m going to leave it for later…
